More than 180 people were in attendance at St. Andrew’s at the weekend for the Birmingham City Ladies FC 2015 Player Awards.

The prestigious event, which was held in the Club's Legends' Lounge, also saw more than £5,500 raised for charity.

Guests had the chance to enjoy a buffet and mingle with the players and management staff, before the players were rewarded for their efforts over the season.

£5200 was raised through the auctioning of a BCLFC shirt signed by the first team squad and an England Ladies shirt signed by Karen Carney, Jo Potter and Jade Moore. John Sims of AES bought both and his generosity is hugely appreciated. In addition, a further £500 was raised in the raffle.

All money will be donated to the Ladies Centre of Excellence and the BCLFC first team players' choice - Cardiac Risk in the Young and the British Heart Foundation.

Kirsty Hulland, Birmingham City Ladies General Manager, said: "I’d like to place on record my thanks to JS Spooner, main event sponsors, our principal shirt partner, Hollywood Monster and all of our player sponsors for their support throughout this season.

"However most of all, I’d like to mention the Birmingham Ladies fans who turned out in such numbers to celebrate what has been a very exciting season for the club and those who made the night such good fun.

“The players have personally asked me to pass on their thanks to all involved in organising the event and all the supporters who celebrated the awards with them."
